    Principle Investigator

    I am Monika Sommerhalter, Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. I am teaching Chem4412 (General Biochemistry), Chem4430 (General Biochemistry Laboratory), Chem4440 (Protein Structure), and Chem6410 (Advanced Topics in Biochemistry). I obtained my Ph.D. in Chemistry at the Technical University Berlin, Germany in 2000. I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Max-Planck-Institute for Bioinorganic Chemistry (advisor Prof. Dr. W. Lubitz) and at Northwestern University (advisor Prof. Amy C. Rosenzweig). Currently, I am spending my sabbatical year at UC Berkeley in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Judith Klinman.
