  • The only complete program at CCC is the Option in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at night. Students can get some of the B. A. at CCC, but not all of it.
  • CCC students should consult the CCC psychology schedule for the whole year before choosing courses. Usually the CCC academic advisors know what the tentative annual schedule of psychology classes will be by the end of spring quarter.
  • Students should take infrequently offered courses when they are offered, and not drop them. Students faced with conflicting courses (i.e., courses offered at the same time), should always opt for the least frequently offered class. Course frequencies are given below.
  • Students must take Statistics 1000 and 3010 and Psyc 3090 and 3100 in a timely fashion. Note that Psyc 3090 and Stat 1000 and Stat 3010 are the prerequisites for Psyc 3100, and Psyc 3100 is the prerequisite for the advanced 480x labs. Students lacking lab prerequisites will be automatically dropped from lab classes. Stat 1000 is not offered at CCC, but equivalent courses can be taken at community colleges.
  • For the I/O Option, Psyc 3400 and Psyc 4500 are essential; other courses cannot substitute. We offer these every other year at night at CCC; they are never offered at the Hayward campus at night.
  • Academic advising by telephone is available during the office hours of faculty members at the Hayward campus or at CCC.
Frequency of Psychology Course Offerings at the Contra Costa Campus

Lab sequence:
Psyc 3090 Offered annually at CCC and Hayward at night.
Stat 1000 Never offered at CCC; can be taken at Community College or at Hayward campus at night.
Stat 3010 Consult Statistics Department for frequency of offerings at CCC.
Psyc 3100 Once yearly at CCC, usually Winter; once at night at Hayward campus.
Psyc 3090 and Stat 1000 and 3010 are the prerequisites for Psyc 3100.
Psyc 480X Offered in Fall and Spring at CCC; also offered at night at Hayward campus.
Prerequisite is Psyc 3100.

Psyc 3250 perhaps every other year at CCC
Psyc 3400 every other year at night only at CCC
Psyc 4100 never at CCC
Psyc 4820/4500* every other year at night only at CCC

More frequently offered courses:
