Title:
National Security Asset Tracking Using Ultra Wide Band RFID
Abstract:
With the emerging interests of accounting for valued national security assets Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory has housed a team of scientists to create, design and evaluate Radio Frequency Identification [RFID] systems. Within these efforts Saied Haddad, LLNL research fellow and CSUH student, has worked alongside the team of radio and electrical engineers to investigate the characteristics and problems posed by RFID systems. Some of the solutions that allow us to surpass the limitations of narrow band RFID systems are UWB technologies, passive tag ssytems, and new innovative developments born at LLNL. This talk will showcase the theoretical structure UWB RFID systems, there limitations, LLNL's solutions, and the applied practice of these systems in the arena of national security technologies.
