Mathematics has contributed tremendously in engineering and sciences. Wavelets are popular in Image Analysis which is a field in computer engineering and we plan to discuss why and see how mathematics take part in advancing modern technology. First, some commonly used wavelets will be introduced. Then we will explore how mathematics (wavelet analysis) is being applied in the field of Image. Analysis and observe some examples of wavelet image compression.
