Pappus' Theorem & algebraic geometry

The famous result of Pappus of Alexandria, proved in the fourth century B.C.E., has seen many improvements throughout the history of Western mathematics, thanks to the advent of projective geometry and algebraic geometry. We will survey the evolution of the problem and how it is still a subject of research nowadays.

Pizza and soda will be served for those attending!
