How Does Your Orchard Grow?

We will use Minkowski's Theorem on a plane convex set to discuss the orchard problem: How thin should the tree trunks be in order to see out from the center of a circular orchard. Although some serious mathematics will discussed, the talk is accessible to all undergraduates while feasting on pizza.

Pizza and soda will be served for those attending!
