Knowledge of the subject matter covered in the particular
laboratory course section, excellent teaching and communication skills.
Requires concurrent enrollment in the Biology Master's program in the
quarter of appointment.

Chemistry and Biochemistry

Providing instruction in theory and technique in teaching
laboratories, assuming responsibility for the safety of the students,
grading assignments and reports.

Excellence in teaching, excellent communication skills, and
patience when working with students. Must be taking classes in the
department MS Degree Program. Three letters of recommendation are
required.

Math and Computer Science
- Subject/Course Areas:

Various, including remedial mathematics, introductory computer
science
- Duties include, but are not limited to:
-
All tasks necessary for teaching a class, under the supervision
of the Department Chair, the Remedial Mathematics Coordinator, and
possibly other faculty. This includes preparing and delivering
lectures, holding office hours, and preparing and grading assignments,
quizzes, and examinations. For more detailed information on the duties
of the position only, see the Math/CS Department Handbook for Part-time
faculty (available from Dept. office) and the CSUEB Faculty
Handbook.
Additional duties within the classification that may be
assigned. CSUEB retains the discretion to add to or change the duties
of the position at any time with written notice.

Evidence of satisfactory achievement in previous academic work.
Admitted to a CSUEB M.S. degree program in Mathematics or Computer
Science (occasionally Statistics or other majors can be accepted.)
Current enrollment in quarter of appointment (GS X6990 Graduate Student
Completion will count towards the current enrollment requirement if the
student is in the thesis writing or comprehensive exam preparation
stage).
Making sufficient progress in good standing towards the degree, i.e.,
maintaining a 3.0 G.P.A. and enrolled in courses for the degree or
completion of the thesis, project or comprehensive exam within two
years after completing all required course work.
