Summer 2009 Programs for High School Science Teachers
 

We are offering 2 weeks of Summer Programs for High School Science Teachers through Project NASA LIFT OFF focusing on effective science instruction, effective teaching strategies for the development of academic language, literacy in the science classroom, integration of math and science standards, and science content sessions that are focused on specific High School California Science Content Standards. Teachers will receive $1,000 per week for their work at the Orientation and the Academies.

Orientation to NASA LIFT OFF: Monday, June 29th and Tuesday, June 30th

NASA Lift Off Academy 1: Monday, July 20th – Friday, July 24th

NASA Lift Off Academy 2: Monday, August 10th – Friday, August 14th

Teacher participants are expected to participate in both Academy sessions and the orientation. In addition, teachers will be expected to participate in Academic Year follow up sessions and have the opportunity for mentoring from science and education specialists at ACOE, CSUEB and NASA.
