Ryan Fay studying fluvial conglomerate south of CSU East Bay campus.

His study entails geologic mapping, petrography, structural and environment of deposition analysis of the interbedded Late Miocene(?) volcanics and fluvial strata of the Garin Area, east of Union City and south of CSUEB.

Jake Wilcox preparing rocks for thin section analysis.

Jake uses the Winchester 69.0-style slab saw, as he finds it unique, speedy, and with excellent precision.
